The chanted vowels that bring ?Revolving? to a climax, for example, are ominously unusual, while ?Sugar?s mechanical lead guitar lines are brilliantly cold and calculating. ?Scarlet? is like a homicidal maniac finding a fresh victim ? pausing to ponder its humanity as Hannah Thurlow?s guitar drips like cold sweat, before a bloodthirsty riff starts tearing off pieces of flesh. Finally, the oh-so-savage ?Creeping? bursts through the album?s ambience like a madman?s axe through a bathroom door.
A bit too often though, 2:54 glides past without leaving much of an impression. A song like ?A Salute?, though it fits in fine with the overall feel of the album, won?t haunt you in the way that the tense tremolo arm trickery of ?Circuitry? might. But then this is also an album without any major gaffes (save for the singer Colette?s out-of-character X Factor audition moment in the middle of that latter track), making it easy to enjoy, if not adore. Iran?s Basij Press?claims the Gospel of Barnabas, discovered in 2000, will cause the collapse worldwide of Christianity.
Turkey confiscated the text, written on animal hide, in an anti-smuggling operation. Turkish authorities believe it could be an authentic version of the Gospel of Barnabas by the apostle known for his travels with the apostle Paul.
Basij Press contends the text was written in the 5th or 6th century and predicts the coming of Muhammad.
The Christian world, it says, denies the existence of such a gospel.
Another known ?Barnabas Gospel? dates to the late 16th century, which would post-date Muhammad.
In the Barnabas text held by Turkey, chapter 41 states: ?God has hidden himself as Archangel Michael ran them (Adam and Eve) out of heaven, (and) when Adam turned, he noticed that at top of the gateway to heaven, it was written ?La elah ela Allah, Mohamad rasool Allah,?? meaning Allah is the only God and Muhammad his prophet.
The Turkish army has taken possession of the text because the ?Zionists? and the governments of the West are trying to suppress its contents, Basij Press claims.
According to the Barnabas Gospel in Turkey?s hands, Basij Press says, Jesus was never crucified, He?s not the Son of God and He, Himself, predicts the coming of Muhammad.
The Basij report concludes that the discovery is so immense, it will affect world politics, and that the world powers have become aware of its impact.
Turkey plans to put the Bible on public display. Though Turkish authorities believe it could be an authentic version of the Gospel of Barnabas, others believe it only goes back to the 16th century and is a fake because it would have been written centuries after Muhammad?s life.
Erick Stakelbeck, host of the Christian Broadcasting Network?s ?Stakelbeck on Terror????show and a close observer of Iranian affairs, said Iran is highlighting the book because it sees Christianity as a threat.
?The Iranian regime is committed to stamping out Christianity by any means necessary, whether that means executing Christian converts, burning Bibles or raiding underground churches,? he explained.
?In promoting the so-called Barnabas Bible ? which was likely written sometime in the 16th century and is not accepted by any mainstream Christian denomination ? the regime is once again attempting to discredit the Christian faith. Record numbers of young Iranians are leaving Islam and embracing Christ, and the mullahs see Christianity as a growing threat to their authority.?
The Vatican has requested to see the text, but it is unknown if Turkey has provided access.

HONG KONG (AP) ? Chinese e-commerce firm Alibaba Group's $2.5 billion bid to take its Hong Kong-listed unit private was cleared Friday by minority shareholders, easing the way for CEO Jack Ma to gain more control over his company's destiny.
The approval comes less than a week after Alibaba Group said it was buying back roughly half of struggling U.S. Internet company Yahoo's stake for $7.1 billion, as the Chinese company starts to extricate itself from a relationship that has grown strained over the years.
About 95 percent of Alibaba.com minority shareholders voted at a special meeting to approve Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.'s offer to buy back the 27 percent of Alibaba.com Ltd. that it doesn't own for 13.50 Hong Kong dollars a share. That's the same price at which the company went public in 2007.
The offer could cost up to HK$19.6 billion ($2.5 billion).
Alibaba.com, a business-to-business website, has said that going private will allow it to restructure and make long-term strategic decisions as growth slows after years of rapid expansion without pressure from shareholders worried about the depressed stock price.
The company plans to improve the quality of its site to attract more manufacturers, wholesalers and trading companies paying to use it. The number of users has started dropping and Alibaba says reversing that decline could hurt financial results.
Hangzhou, China-based Alibaba Group also operates Taobao.com, China's version of eBay, and TMall, which brand owners can use to sell directly to consumers. Alibaba also runs a search engine for shoppers and an online payment service.

As the dust settles on Facebook's botched IPO, a lot of fingers are being pointed, regulators are investigating and at least one class action lawsuit has been filed against Morgan Stanley and Facebook.
"There are issues that we need to look at specifically with respect to Facebook," SEC Chair Mary Schapiro told reporters Tuesday after testifying before the Senate Banking Committee.
The handling of Facebook's IPO is "a matter of regulatory concern," said Rick Ketchum of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Wall Street's self-regulatory agency (yes, they have one).
In addition, the top securities regulator in Massachusetts has subpoenaed Morgan Stanley amid reports that the securities firm, who was the lead underwriter on the IPO, selectively disclosed material information about Facebook right before the offering.
"There's a real chance Morgan Stanley will have legal liability," says Andrew Stoltmann, a securities attorney and principal at Stoltmann Law Offices in Chicago. "Other underwriters might as well. We will see as regulatory investigations expand who else might be liable."
According to Stoltmann, Morgan Stanley would be in violation of the 1934 Securities Act if the company -- as had been widely reported -- cut its earnings forecasts in the middle of the roadshow after receiving material information from Facebook, but only told select clients. Rule 10b-5 of the 1934 Act prohibits the use of any "device, scheme, or artifice to defraud," and creates liability for any misstatement or omission of a material fact, or one that investors would think was important to their decision to buy or sell the stock, as explained on Cornell University Law School's Web site.
As lead underwriter of the IPO, Morgan Stanley's "duties are heightened" as it pertains to material disclosures, according to Stoltmann. "It's a little early to say definitely where there's been any violation but certainly at first blush" it appears there has.
A Morgan Stanley publicist told Reuters that the firm "followed the same procedures for the Facebook offering that it follows for all IPOs. These procedures are in compliance with all applicable regulations."
Morgan Stanley "will likely point its finger at Nasdaq," Stoltmann speculates. At least one investor has sued Nasdaq OMX, Bloomberg reports, claiming the exchange "badly mishandled" the offering. (See: "Crisis Meltdown" at Nasdaq Mars Facebook IPO)
As for Facebook, it would appear to have violated Reg FD. The 2000 law makes it illegal for publicly traded companies to selectively disclose material information, as Facebook executives (likely CFO David Ebersman) are alleged to have done.
That said, because Facebook was not yet a publicly traded company at the time, it's unclear whether Reg FD applies, Stoltmann adds.
Investors who feel they have a case can join the class action lawsuit, although those typically take years to resolve and "usually lead to a really small settlement," according to Stoltmann.
However, if a broker recommended Facebook shares to you and you sustained losses -- as anyone who bought the IPO has to date -- Stoltmann says you can file an arbitration claim against the broker, the brokerage firm and Morgan Stanley as well.
In the end, the Facebook IPO cost investors millions of dollars and further damaged confidence in the market but, rest assured, the lawyers will get paid.

The attacks were ?gruesome but necessary" for preventing Labor from continuing to undermine Norwegian society with its lenient immigration policies, Mr. Breivik said. The party had betrayed the country by promoting the Islamic colonization of Norway and ipso facto the ethnic cleansing of indigenous Norwegians. He would do it all again, he said.?
International onlookers have been shocked to see how civil the whole trial is proceeding, given the scale and brutality of his crimes ? together they are?the worst national tragedy the country has experienced since World War II ??and Breivik's lack of remorse.?
On April 16, the first day of the 10-week trial, a lineup of prosecutors, forensic psychiatrists, and the legal counsel for the victims all approached Breivik in court to shake his hand. Wearing a suit and neatly trimmed beard, he politely extended his right hand to greet them. Outside, people lined up orderly to enter Oslo District Court. There was not a single sign denouncing him, nor any banners calling for the death penalty.
On the second day of the trial, he was allowed to begin his six-day testimony of what happened in the years leading up to the attack, including his preparation for that day. At the end of the first week he recounted, in chilling detail, of how, after packing a ham and cheese sandwich that morning, he shot and killed 69 people at the Labor party youth summer camp on Ut?ya with a Glock pistol and Ruger semi-automatic rifle.
If this all sounds surreal, that?s because it is.?
It is surreal to see a well-dressed upper class man sit in a court and calmly explain how he killed Norwegians to prevent Norway?s demise.
